About Black Betty

Black Betty Cafe opened for business in February 2011 and since then has grown to become an integral part of the Christchurch café scene.

Located in a renovated warehouse space on Madras Street, we have a huge seating selection, but beware, we fill up quickly over lunch and on the weekends, so get in early!

We do take table bookings for any day and also have a private meeting room for hire that can be reserved during the week. Book your table here! *Please keep in mind, for private room requests or bookings of 15+ people, guests must email manager@blackbetty.co.nz. Pre-order options are available for larger groups to reduce service wait time for those that are restricted for time.

Black Betty specialises in mouth-watering coffee, serving our famous BBIV Espresso blend Roasted by our sister roastery Switch Espresso. 

We serve a full brunch menu which runs weekdays until 1.30pm and weekends till 2pm, as well as a fully stocked cabinet of freshly made lunch items and sweet treats.

In 2014 Black Betty was the proud winner of the Zest Food Awards Cafe of the Year and has made the top 10 in subsequent years.

Black Betty stocks Switch Espresso coffee beans for you to purchase for home or office use, and we can grind it fresh for whichever machine you use.
